I wanted to try and use Pearltrees in my classroom to help students organize their research on Post-Secondary Options, this research will lead them into a final project where they will get to choose the mode of technology they want to use to share about one of their post-secondary options! The students will work with my guidance to create a rubric for the final project and then will come up with a final product that meets the criteria of the rubric.
The information below will be used for the research portion of the project.
Pearltrees
Research Unit
Essential Question: I can analyze my post secondary options
and create a digital roadmap to describe possible pathways.
NETS-T Standards
2. Design and Develop Digital Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating
contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge,
skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS·S.
a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote
student learning and creativity
b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual
curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own
learning, and assessing their own progress
c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resource
I have created a checklist, a
rubric, visual aid and an instruction sheet to guide student learning. The rubric that will be used for
evaluation of content is below.
Each student will have 2 peer evaluations, 1 teacher evaluation and 1
personal evaluation of their Pearltree.
Peer Evaluation
|
Criteria
|
Pass
|
Fail
|
|
Student created a Pearltree
with the 6 required branches.
|
Student met all criteria for
required elements.
|
Student is missing 1 or more
required elements.
|
|
Student has a minimum of 4
pearls per branch and at least 1 note pearl.
|
Student has created pearls that
clearly indicate which required criteria are being shared and have organized
the pearls so they are easily understood.
|
Student has not met the
requirements for the number of pearls on each branch and/or have not clearly
organized their pearls.
|
|
Student has incorporated images
onto each Pearl
|
Student has chosen appropriate
images that indicate the topic of the pearl.
|
Student has not incorporated
appropriate images into their pearls.
|
|
Student has properly labeled
each pearl for easy navigation
|
Student has labeled each pearl
so that it is clear which required element is being met.
|
Student has not edited the
labels so that the evaluator can easily determine which required criteria are
being met.
|
Comments: (How do you think your
peer did on this project?)
