Week 10

Essential Question:

How can I differentiate through student product in my classroom?

As I have worked through what technology options I can provide my students for an Employment  project that they have coming up in the next few weeks I realized that rather than assuming that all students will know how to use the technologies that I suggest I am going to allow them to choose and present me with a project outline for how they will meet my requirements to help them prepare for their mock interviews at the end of the unit.  I know that my students are much more versed in technology than I am and as long as my essential question is being met then I figure I can let them be creative!  Although this will be a challenging way to go about this project (for me and my linear way of thinking) I know that it will engage more of my students.  Although I have not worked out all the details of how to grade this exploration and sharing of knowledge the general outline will look something like this:

1. Research and differentiate between the soft and technical skills that employers look for in an employee (would need to come up with a specific number of skills that each students would need to find).
2.  Create a proposal that indicates how you will share this information with your peers via the use of technology, students may work individually or in pairs.
3.  Student will be given a rubric to guide their creative process and to make sure they meet the informational criteria for the project.
4. Students will then present their information to a group of peers who will use the rubric to grade them.
